Audience Engagement

With the recent surge of technology tools to engage audiences now available in the meetings space it’s often difficult to navigate through the sea of choices to find the most effective tool for your needs.

I was first introduced to ConferencesI.O. mobile app when I produced an event for the Chicago chapter of MPI back in July 2013 (and have since referred it to some of my clients).  What makes this technology tool so interesting to me is that, not only is it an easy-to-use app for polling and Q & A, it goes a step further than most traditional apps.

Besides the more traditional polling and survey features it ranks questions based on popularity (most popular questions visually rise on-screen) and users are able to see what questions have already been asked so they can click on an already-asked question if it is similar to their question.   Not only does it reduce redundancy but it also increases the popularity of the question.  Most important/relevant questions are answered first, helping to maximize audience engagement.

Another great feature is when open ended questions are asked the words or phrases are not listed but turned into word art with the more popular answers coming up in a larger font.
