Meeting Professionals International: Puppy Cuddling Breakout!
In 10 days, I will be in Vancouver attending one of my favorite events put on by Meeting Professionals International (MPI); The World Education Congress (WEC). WEC 2010 is sure to be an innovative display of meeting and event production knowledge. Scheduled sessions will educate attendees on: core meeting and event skills, contracts and legal concerns and the future of meetings, to name a few.
However, when it comes to scheduling fun MPI never fails to think outside of the box! This year MPI has worked to partner with Pacific Assistance Dogs (PADS). PADS trains 3 types of assistance dogs: Service Dogs for people with physical disabilities, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf or hard of hearing and Facility/Therapy Dogs for therapeutic placements in long term care, group homes, hospitals and schools!
MPI has scheduled time for attendees to to cuddle, pet or play with the puppies. These puppy cuddling sessions will give the dogs some down time from their serious training. The time spent socializing also allows the puppies to explore the world and get acquainted with new surroundings and people.
Have you participated in some unique downtime at a corporate conference or event? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear about it!
