Biggest Venues in the World
The power of gathering thousands of people into one location is second to none. In fact, I’m often asked; what’s the biggest venue or stadium in the world? Fortunately, I recently stumbled across an article that answers that very question.
If you’re thinking about hosting the world’s largest event, you’re more than likely going to need to use one of the following 10 biggest (by capacity) venues/stadiums in the world:
- May Day Stadium (Pyongyang, North Korea): The stadium usually hosts soccer matches and can seat up to 150,000+
- Salt Lake Stadium (Kolkata, India): This venue typically holds soccer and cricket matches and can seat 120,000+
- Michigan Stadium (Ann Arbor, Michigan): Home of the Michigan Wolverines, the “Big House” can hold just under 110,000
- Beaver Stadium (State College, Pennsylvania): Home of the Nittany Lions of Penn State and holds over 107,000+
- Estadio Azteca (Mexico City, Mexico): Located in Mexico’s capitol this soccer stadium can hold up to 105,000
- Neyland Stadium (Knoxville, Tennessee): The Tennessee Volunteer’s football stadium can host 102,400+
- Ohio Stadium (Columbus, Ohio): The Ohio Buckeyes’ football team can play in front 102,300 at capacity
- Bryant-Denny Stadium (Tuscaloosa, Alabama):
- Bukit Jalil Memorial Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia): Built to hold the 1998 Commonwealth games, this venue seats just over 100,000
- Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium (Austin, Texas): If you think your event is going to be huge but not quite 101,000 huge, then the home of the Longhorns will fit you perfectly at 100,000 seats
When there are over 100,000 people engaged in one event the energy is pulsing. If you’re looking for a rush that can only be obtained through face-to-face interaction it doesn’t get bigger than these modern marvels!
