Get More Attendees: Cast a Bigger Net
Having a public event sold-out before it takes place is every event planner’s dream. Nevertheless, when the economy is still rebounding pre-registration goals are hardly met. I’m often asked; What can I do when early bird rates alone aren’t working?
I tend to look past the early birds and think like a fisherman. Want to catch more fish? Cast a bigger net! Try these 3 tactics so you can increase visibility for your next open event:
1. Event Calendars: In the Chicago-land area alone there are hundreds of sites and publications that will list your upcoming event for little-to-no cost. Crain’s Chicago Business Event Calendar is a great place to start.
2. Human Resources: HR professionals are passionate about keeping their coworkers up to date on hot button topics and trends. Reaching out to HR contacts in relevant industries could bring a whole team of eager attendees to your conference.
3. Get Social: LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook were built around sharing information. With a combined total of over 600 million users your event will more than likely be found by someone new.
