Grab Your Audience’s Attention Before the Event
I was able to watch web 2.0 guru, Jeremy Gutsche (above) speak this July in Vancouver at MPI-WEC. Jeremy brings great energy and knowledge to all of his engagements; we had to bring him in as a keynote speaker for an upcoming MPI lunch.
This week I received a YouTube message from Jeremy on LinkedIn. The message was addressed to everyone that was planning to attend the luncheon this October 14. It serves as a brief introduction and also discusses the general structure of the event.
By using social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; a speaker can reach their audience a few days prior to taking the stage. By initiating a conversation with your audience before an event, a speaker can create a great impression! When it is time to take the stage, the audience will be attentive, looking forward to receiving a talk from someone they already know.
Small gestures can make a big difference while trying to engage attendees at corporate events.
