Increase Your Event’s Bottom Line: Book the Slow Season

A large portion of the  corporate events and meetings we plan are booked at hotels. Hotels allow guests the option to attend their event, dine and board in one location. Most event production companies understand booking one location will typically save a few dollars on their bottom line. However, more money can be saved by booking during a slow period!

Booking meeting areas, hotel rooms and event support can be less expensive when a hotel has increased vacancy. Websites like SmartTravel have an index listing slow seasons for most major cities in the US.

Are you booking an event soon? Act quickly! Hotel deals might not be around forever. According to a recent post on Calculated Risk, an economics and finance blog, the hotel industry is rapidly rebounding from the recession. Calculated Risk says, “Hotel revenue is up 14.1% compared to the same week in 2009”.

The best way to find out if you can save some cash is by shopping around! Once you’ve identified the slow season, call a few locations and figure out who has the best option!
