Listen and Engage: Google Alerts
The internet is a well of information that can be useful for producing a better event. However, it is impossible for any one person to filter all of the information that is being added in real-time. Acknowledging this dilemma, the folks at Google created a tool to help you sift through information as it is posted to bring you the updates that are relevant to you.
Google Alerts monitors search terms (selected by the user) and brings them to the attention of their users (via email) as they are posted in real-time. Use Google Alerts to:
- Monitor Your Next Event: Using the title of your upcoming event as a search term will notify you anytime your event is mentioned in a blog, twitter post or news story
- Watch Trends: Are you still on the fence about an emerging trend that you’d like to include in an event? Set an alert! You’ll get feedback as it is posted
- Track Important Companies and People: Stay current on your favorite speakers and clients by using their name(s) as search terms. You’ll get all the latest news as it becomes available.
Use Google Alerts to become a better listener. Through observing the conversations that are taking place online you’ll ultimately create a more engaging event!
