Yet Another Way Facebook Raises Visibility
This week Microsoft announced that their search engine, Bing will use Facebook amongst other social media websites to help create custom search results for each user. Online publication, PCWorld feels that Bing implemented the new changes to their search result rankings to compete with Google’s recent release of “Plus 1”. The big picture for both search engine companies is to customize search results based on the “likes” of people within your online social networks. Links that are placed at the top of search engine results will display contacts within your social networks that have already reviewed the information and found it enjoyable (example below).
You may be thinking; how does this influence Chicago corporate event production? The new search result changes will raise visibility amongst people that are connected! For instance, try creating a Facebook page for you next event and encourage attendees to “like” it. The page will have a greater chance at being found by people within the attendee’s social networks on Bing or Google when they search related topics!
By driving more attendee engagement using online social networks you’ll continue to raise visibility and ultimately gain more exposure!
